Comments: I hadn't visited this site in about a year in a half and now I find I will never be able to hear from Cody again. I had found his site back in 99 when I was just 17 and I was having doubts about my own sexuality. Cody helped me to recognize that you can enjoy love no matter who it comes from or what type of relationship it is. He was a kid who was full of life and I've tried to be the same way. Cody was very close to me in age and I felt like he spoke for how I felt too. I'll miss him for that and always wish I could have known him personally.

Comments: i have sat here reading for several days now at mrb site. i read the Wingnut stories. now i'm reading about Steve. i never came to terms with my own sexuality. i guess you can say i'm a "boylover". i'm about to be 50 soon. i never have had sex with a girl. i have had sex with guys my age as a kid and some younger boys. what i want to say tho is. reading about cody made me feel so wrong for not dealing with stuff yrs ago. i have lots more to read here i'm not even close to being done. the more i read the more i wish i had met a Cody when i was a boy his age. maybe things in my life would have turned out better for me. he would have gave me the confidance to date girls yet be happy to make love with a guy as well. Comments: For those of you wondering what led to Cody's death:
Cody was killed in an auto crash on November 3, 2001. He hitched a ride home after a few beers with his mates from the surf shop where he worked. It was early in the morning. The car was doing 160 kph when it crashed. The driver was also killed. Cody was just 19.

Comments: I can only start to say how well I knew Jeffrey's Bay, first to all who dont know the place and that's besides it's lengendary surf known throught out the world.
Jeffreys Bay is simply 'Far out' a place to chill, a place to enjoy nature, a place where people are kinda alright (no place is perfect)
But I'll end by saying that what we put in life is what we get out, although Cody has left our destructive world he has gone somewhere special, somewhere unique and a place of great importance, a place I hope to see and finally see.

Comments: I forgot even how I got to Cody's page but am glad I did. I read it all. He was an amazing person. He was obviously a very caring individual. He is right about guys not being able to appreciate guys like girls appreciate girls.
Strange.... just when you think you have everyone "catagorized" you find someone like Cody and it shows you just how diverse people can be.(and how little I know) My little brother died (drowned) at age 11 and then my best friend died the following summer. I know what it is to miss someone and can understand the depth of your feeling for your friend. I am sorry for his passing he was a credit to the human race. Maybe God thought he was needed more in heaven? My deepest condolences to you and all his family and friends. Take care.

Comments: Why is it that the "good" die young? This is especially true for you, Cody. I had a great friend who also died young (33), but for a short time he came back to haunt me and his close friends. He helped set up for me what turned out to be a 5-year relationship with a simply wonderful guy. I hope you don't waste too much time floating around on clouds and get yourself back down here pronto. The earth needs more folks like you. Next time try to arrange to hang around a little longer than last time. Your passing did result in one very wonderful event: lots of people reassessed their relationships with you and amongst themselves. You were just that kind of guy. That's a pretty nice legacy...

Comments: I'm very happy Steve have reconstructed Cody'd Pad, though I confessed I delayed my visit there. Too much emotion to face. But now the page is again in the air and all of us, old admirers or new visitors, can remember or discover how Cody was: a great boy, beautiful, brave, gentle, kind, sincere, always ready to support other people, always ready to make us see how the world could be a beautiful place to live. He loved the sea, the mountains, the same way he loved his friends, boys and girls. He loved to write (and I loved to read what he wrote), he loved to surf, he loved to make great graphics at computer. He even found time to be kind to distant old boring men (like me) who wrote to him. Now he's in Heaven, a mischievous but flawless angel, and I'm sure Heaven must be a much more funny place by now. And I repeat the obvious: he'll be alive as long as any friend of him would be alive, into our hearts and minds.
A special thank to Steve. You were Cody's best friend. Please, be careful, live a good live, take care with your health and your feelings. Try to be positive, go to college, get a good girlfriend who could support you at bad moments. You are a great boy, as good as Cody. As you can see, I'm really a boring old man, lucky I am at the other side of Atlantic. But if you sometimes need anything, if I could help you in anything, in any way, please write, it would be as pleasurable to as to help Cody. God bless you, Steve. I've come to the same conclusions as you, from my early puberty days, that I was gay, but now as I've grown, I'm beginning to think I labeled myself before I could read the label. My shirts rarely cover up my bellybutton so when I sit down or bend over, your gonna get an underwear advertisment (when I get around to wearing any, that is) or some quality "northern exposire" I also like to wear tight, faded jeans ripped in the knees and the ass.
